I would like to acknowledge that all of my teaching has been held on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide region and I pay my respect to Elders both past, present and future.
Hello, my name is Emma Phyland and welcome to my e-portfolio!
I am a recent graduate from Flinders University with a Bachelor of Education / Special Education (Secondary) and a major in English.
I started my career as an Educational Support Officer in 2016, where I developed my passion for disability and inclusive education. I currently work with a diverse range of young people and support them to achieve their goals within a mainstream educational setting.
I have a particular passion for supporting people with learning difficulties and disabilities to achieve success. To effectively support individuals with additional learning needs, I incorporate differentiation, positive behaviour support, and evidence-based instructional practices as part of my teaching pedagogy. I am a resilient and dedicated learner who is willing to modify and adapt my teaching craft to suit the needs of diverse educational settings. I invite you to view this e-portfolio to gain a sense of who I am and how I approach my teaching.
